‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ celebrated at Mysuru Airport

A slew of events focussed on passenger facilitation were conducted at the Mysuru Airport to mark the ‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ on Wednesday.

Inaugurated by MP for Mysuru Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the events also included health awareness and community engagement activities.

Mr. Yaduveer launched a plantation drive organised under the theme ‘Maa ka Naam Pe Ek Ped’ and planted a champak tree while many other saplings were planted across the airport premises as part of the drive.

A selfie booth was inaugurated and cultural programmes were held to mark the occasion. Mysuru Airport Director J.R. Anoop said health initiatives, including a blood donation camp, was conducted with the support of authorities of the District Health Department. A total of 42 participants donated blood during the blood donation camp. An eye check-up camp was held in collaboration with Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Clinic, which benefitted 92 participants, while 117 individuals made use of the general health check-up camp, conducted in association with Manipal Hospital, Mysuru. Mr. Anoop said that some of the passengers also benefitted from the initiatives.

To inspire the younger generation, a drawing competition was organised for students of Government Higher Primary School, Mandakalli, while a career-guidance session combined with an airport familiarisation programme was conducted for the students, providing them exposure to aviation and related opportunities, said Mr. Anoop.
