Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba will be in a ‘now or never’ situation as they take another shot at the Africa rally championship title.
Nasser heads to the season finale in Tanzania this weekend heading the ARC leaderboard by just eight points over Kenya’s Samman Vohra.
With a slim lead, the crew would be presumed to be under pressure going into the final round.
And with the crown anyone’s for the taking, Nasser has chosen calmness ahead of the contest.
“We are keeping calm. What I know is that we are in better shape to compete. The car is ready, so is the technical team and the crew,” he told Kawowo Sports.
“We are ready for the race and we shall do what is expected of us. We are in this position to fight for the title and we are going to do just that and we leave the rest to God,” he added.
For Nasser to claim the title, he needs to bring his Ford Fiesta rally2 either ahead of Vohra or finish just behind him in the final classification.
The title fight is expected to get more tense with the inclusion of two time African champion Karen Patel and Tanzania’s Ahmed Huwel that could impact the final positions.
