Yashoda Hospitals launches ‘Pink Power’ book to raise awareness on breast cancer

Hyderabad: Dr Rajesh Goud, Senior Surgical Oncologist & Robotic Surgeon at Yashoda Hospitals-Hitec City, launched a book titled ‘Pink Power’ aimed at educating women on breast cancer screening, early warning signs, nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being during and after treatment, in the presence of Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka, film actress Kumari Srileela, and Yashoda Hospitals Group Managing Director Dr G S Rao. On this occasion, Seethakka said, “Failure to detect breast cancer at an early stage makes it very difficult to treat it in its advanced stages. More than 50% of Indian women develop breast cancer only at stage 3-4. The main reason for this is the lack of proper awareness among women about breast cancer.” "With advanced surgeries, cancer has become a treatable condition. Women should speak out about their problems and get timely tests done," said Kumari Srileela. “Yashoda Hospitals-Cancer Centre is a centre of excellence for comprehensive cancer care. With the latest medical technology available today, we can win the battle against cancer,” said Dr G S Rao. Dr Rajesh Goud said, “Many women fear that breast cancer means losing their breast identity. That is no longer true. The most complex cancer surgeries can be performed with laparoscopic and robotic surgery.”
