Yamaha seems to be on a roll lately, with a new product launch lined up for November 11. While the XSR155 is all but confirmed to make its India debut, another bike could be waiting in the wings. The WR 155R, Yamaha’s affordable dual-sport motorcycle, has been spotted once again in Bengaluru. The WR 155R has earned a solid reputation in Southeast Asian markets. The latest spy shots reveal a model identical to the one sold overseas, suggesting that Yamaha hasn’t made any visible changes for India yet. That said, it remains unclear whether this particular unit is part of official testing or a privately imported example. With a seat height of 880 mm and ground clearance of 245 mm, the WR 155R looks ready to take on rough terrain. The design stays true to its dual-sport roots, functional and minimal. A sharp triangular headlamp, raised front fender, narrow seat, and high-mounted exhaust underline its go-anywhere intent. In global markets, the WR 155R is sold in multiple colour options, including blue and black, with the latter featuring sportier graphics and a contrasting aqua frame. It produces 16.7 hp and 14.3 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, while braking comes from discs at both ends. If Yamaha decides to launch it here, the WR 155R could take on the Hero Xpulse 210 and Kawasaki KLX230. A price tag under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) would make it a tempting option.
