Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently pulled the wraps off its Xiaomi 17 series in China, introducing three new flagships- the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro and the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. These new models bring some of the biggest upgrades we’ve seen from Xiaomi in recent years, including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and the company’s upgraded HyperOS 3, built on Android 16. Interestingly, the Pro variants now feature a secondary display at the back, a trend that could make a comeback in 2026. Xiaomi India’s top leadership has also confirmed that the new lineup will make its way to India and other global markets soon. Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Specifications The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max boasts a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED main display, but what really impressive is the 2.9-inch secondary display on the rear, cleverly integrated into the camera module. This tiny yet functional screen supports multiple features like AI pets, portrait previews, alarm clocks and even music control. The tech giant claims that with a special case, users can even transform it into a mini gaming console, which sounds quite fun and futuristic. The device sports a premium build, measuring 8mm in thickness and weighing around 192 grams, it also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance. Powering the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the device runs on HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s custom skin based on Android 16. One of its biggest highlights is the 7500 mAh battery, which supports 100W wired, 50W wireless and even 22.5W reverse charging. The front camera is also a 50-megapixel sensor, ensuring clear selfies and video calls. Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Launch Date And Price In India (Expected) In an exclusive conversation with Digit and Times Now Tech, Xiaomi India’s CMO Anuj Sharma revealed that the company plans to launch the Xiaomi 17 series in India in Q1 2026. We expect the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max to debut between February 15 and 28, 2026. In China, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max starts at CNY 5,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.
