WWE’s newest Premium Live Event, Wrestlepalooza, debuts as part of the company’s ESPN broadcasting partnership. The event draws its name from the defunct Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion’s 1995 pay-per-view, which WWE acquired along with ECW’s trademarks in 2003.The main attraction features John Cena’s retirement tour continuing against Brock Lesnar. Cena announced his in-ring retirement at Money in the Bank in July, 2024, with his final matches scheduled through the end of 2025. His goal remains breaking the WWE championship record he currently shares with Ric Flair at 16 titles.Cena’s retirement tour included a controversial heel turn at WrestleMania 41, where he defeated Cody Rhodes for the championship with assistance from The Rock and Travis Scott. This marks AJ Lee’s first wrestling match since March 2015.The feud originated at Clash in Paris when Lynch, wearing a mask, attacked Punk during his match against Rollins.
