WWE Veteran Sets Major Condition for Retirement

Since signing a contract with WWE in 2006, Sheamus has been a loyalist and is still kicking with the young talent on the roster. “The Celtic Warrior” is a four-time World Champion and has only the Intercontinental Championship left to win in order to become a Grand Slam Champion. He is currently involved in a feud with The Judgment Day. This follows a brutal feud with Rusev, which culminated in multiple matches between them and ended at “Clash in Paris.” Speaking on the latest “RAW Recap” podcast, he clarified that he was nowhere close to retiring. He also revealed the one reason that will force him to end his professional wrestling career. “I think it’s the intensity that’s something that I’ve always leaned into, and that’s really what sets me apart. I feel like that’s why I’m still in the game.” “You know, people talk about John Cena retiring, and I think he’s like a year older than me, and I feel like I’m just getting started,” he said. “Last week, I was in there with JD [McDonagh], man, and just ripping it up.” “The day I don’t go out there and give 100% or give it everything that I possibly have every single match—I don’t care if it’s RAW, SmackDown, NXT, or if it’s Main Event that they tape before the show—I won’t go out there and not give everything I have in every single match, and especially with my neck.” Since returning to “WWE Raw” last month, Sheamus has looked like a man on a mission. His match with JD McDonagh last week took a gnarly turn when Finn Balor hit him with a shillelagh, leading to his loss. On the November 3rd taping of the red brand, the 47-year-old made his presence felt. He interfered during the tag team match between AJ Styles/Dragon Lee and The Judgment Day. In the episode, he was also revealed as one of the participants in “The Last Time is Now” tournament. The tournament was first announced at “Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.” 16 men will compete in it, with the winner earning the right to challenge John Cena in his last match. That final bout will take place at “WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII” on December 13th. Bron Breakker, Sheamus, and Ludwig Kaiser stood at opposite ends of the ring with the referee stood between them. This brutal contest brought out the best in all three men. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match On next week’s “WWE Raw,” Sheamus will face Shinsuke Nakamura in a first-round tournament match. In the other first-round match, Rusev will challenge Damian Priest. The November 10th episode of “WWE Raw” will be a significant night as it emanates from John Cena’s hometown of Boston and marks his final appearance in the city. The “Raw” side of the tournament bracket features two other matches: Rusev vs. Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio vs. CM Punk, who is coming off his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Jey Uso. While Sheamus pursues a spot in Cena’s final match, his feud with The Judgment Day continues to build. This rivalry is expected to culminate at “Survivor Series: WarGames” on November 29th, where Sheamus will likely lead his Brawling Brutes faction into the WarGames structure against the dominant heel group.
