WWE Star Roman Reigns Shares Health Concerns for Crown Jewel

At WWE Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns faces another challenging opponent as he’ll attempt to exact revenge on The Vision’s Bronson Reed. Fans previously watched as Reed decimated Reigns at the WWE Clash in Paris, keeping him off television for a bit.

However, “The One Tribal Chief” returned recently, as he showed up to attack Reed and his tag team partner, Bron Breakker. Ultimately, that led to a massive match at WWE’s event in Perth, Australia, this weekend.

Amongst several champion vs. champion and feud matches at Crown Jewel, Reigns will battle Reed in an Australian Street Fight. However, the multi-time WWE Champion is still recovering from a grueling schedule.

In addition to appearing for WWE, Reigns filmed scenes for the upcoming movie Street Fight, which also features co-star Cody Rhodes among the cast. The WWE schedule is brutal, running around the year, and filming for a movie can also span entire days of work to get scenes right.

Ahead of his journey to Perth and the upcoming match against Reed, Reigns appeared in an interview where he raised a few concerns about his health before the trip to Australia.

Roman Reigns looks on before his Triple Threat match against CM Punk and Seth Rollins during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 19, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“I feel like crap. My body does not feel good,” he said, adding, “The flight back and forth has not been nice. I’ve been jetlagged four weeks in a row now.”

“We’re gonna go head against the wall, Goldberg-style. You can’t do much worse than I feel now, so let’s go mess it up physically,” he said during “The Pat McAfee Show.”

When McAfee said he wasn’t happy hearing that Reigns isn’t “at his best,” the WWE star corrected him that he’s still a “live performer” and will give it his all.

“Like you, I’m a live performer. I can go at any given moment. I’m always gonna give it 100 percent,” he said on Wednesday’s episode.

As Reigns mentioned, he’s familiar with traveling to Australia due to the filming of Street Fighter in Sydney, New South Wales. He noted that he had recently flown commercial, but would be much more comfortable in a G650 with just “one stop for gas” on the way to Crown Jewel.

“There’s no way to combat this jetlagged, tired, rundown feeling. All you can do is try to keep your immune system as high as possible,” Reigns told McAfee, adding, “Let’s just keep moving forward and just try to hit the ground running.”

WWE fans in the United States who want to watch and cheer for Reigns might also have to sacrifice some of their sleep to do so. The latest premium live event on ESPN Unlimited begins at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, Oct. 11.
