WWE Makes Huge Decision Amid Champion's Injury

WWE has not vacated two more titles after all. During Tuesday’s episode of “NXT,” Sol Ruca revealed that due to an injury sustained in a match on “Friday Night SmackDown,” she is unsure when she’ll be medically cleared to compete. This means she won’t be putting the NXT Women’s North American Championship at stake against Blake Monroe at “Halloween Havoc 2025.” This changes EVERYTHING! 😱With @SolRucaWWE not medically cleared, @ZariaWWE_ will defend the Women's North American Championship against @BlakeMonroeWWE on her behalf at Halloween Havoc… pic.twitter.com/cwZZoM6WmX— WWE (@WWE) October 22, 2025 Instead of vacating both the North American and WWE Women’s Speed Championships, Ruca is allowing her tag team partner Zaria to defend the North American gold against Monroe. WWE’s decision took place just one night after Seth Rollins was stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. After suffering an injury against Cody Rhodes at “Crown Jewel,” Rollins was written off TV when Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed kicked him out of The Vision. Ruca’s run with both titles continues for now. Ruca’s injury occurred during “Friday Night SmackDown.” She teamed with Zaria to challenge Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Ruca was unable to win her third WWE title. It’s a sudden string of misfortune in terms of superstar injuries, but WWE has seemingly avoided one scare. WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer appeared to favor her knee after slipping during a springboard crossbody attempt. Despite limping after the mishap, Bryan Alvarez of “Wrestling Observer Live” has been informed that “La Primera” appears to be doing fine after the botched spot.
