WWE Legend’s Daughter is Training at Performance Center

WWE Legend’s Daughter is Training at Performance Center

As the beginning of Cody Rhodes’ WWE theme music suggests, wrestling indeed has more than one royal family. From the powerful McMahons, to the legendary Hart dynasty, to the Anoa’i Bloodline, to the charismatic Rhodes — these families have proven that passion for the squared circle is as much a family tradition as it is a profession.
Rey Mysterio has long been part of that lineage, as a second-generation star himself. And he recently expanded it, with his son Dominik stepping out of his father’s shadow to become one of the most compelling, yet beloved villains in WWE today. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer’s wrestling family tree may just get bigger.
Rey Mysterio Reveals His Daughter is Training at the WWE Performance Center
Rey Mysterio has been off WWE television for the most part in 2025 as he recovers from a torn groin injury that he suffered right before WrestleMania 41 in April. The WWE legend recently appeared on the Club 520 podcast and revealed that his daughter, Aalyah, got her first taste of wrestling training at the WWE performance center.
Mysterio said that for over a year now, she has been adamantly asking her father about when he’d bring her to the ring. During his recent trip to the performance center, Aalyah finally got her chance.
“She loved it man. She was hitting the ropes, rolling, beginner stuff. When you hit those ropes, she was all bruised from her back and shoulders.”
Aalyah, whose real name is Aalyah Gutierrez, is currently 24 years old. Her father is one of the best superstars in WWE history and her brother, Dominik, has established himself as one of the best heels in the business today. Given the success of her family, it’s easy to see why she has been itching to get in the ring.
Aalyah Mysterio Has Appeared in WWE Several Times
Rey Mysterio has never been shy about involving his family in his work. Aalyah has appeared on WWE television sporadically as a child and wrestling fans may remember seeing her during her father’s feud with CM Punk back in 2010.
In 2020, Aalyah’s involvement in WWE became more prominent. During the Mysterio family’s feud with Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy, Aalyah was introduced into a romantic angle with Murphy. The story gained significant traction and added another wrinkle to Rey and Dom’s rivalry with Seth and Buddy. The angle reached its peak when Aalyah and Murphy shared an on-screen kiss. However, despite its intrigue, the angle was dropped abruptly.
Since then, Aalyah has made brief appearances during the build up of the WrestleMania 39 match between Rey and Dominik.
Fastforward to 2025, it appears like Rey Mysterio’s daughter is planting the seeds of a potential in-ring debut. Her wrestling journey may only be in its infancy. But given her genes as a Mysterio, it only makes sense for her to give professional wrestling a shot.
