WWE Legend Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler Suffers Stroke

Legendary WWE star Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke Sept. 5 in Florida, according to a report.

Lawler’s former fiancée and caregiver told TMZ that the 75-year-old was at his home at the time of the medical emergency. Lawler’s daughter is reportedly transferring him to his primary residence, where he is expected to rest and recover for a few weeks.

The WWE star was at his Fort Myers, Florida, residence while recovering Monday, according to a post on his X account. “His speech was limited, but with rehabilitation will regain a full recovery. He thanks everyone for the continued prayers and will be back in the near future,” the post read.

No further information was provided surrounding the severity of the stroke, and it’s unclear if he was alone at the time of the medical crisis.

Lawler, known affectionately to fans as “The King,” was forced to cancel a scheduled appearance while he takes the steps necessary to regain his health, according to a post online. He was set to appear at the HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati beginning on Friday, but organizers said Monday that he would be missing from the roster “due to some personal matters.”

Lawler previously suffered a “massive stroke” in 2023, and was discharged from hospital just a few days later to recover in outpatient rehab.

He also suffered a stroke in 2018, and had a heart attack and collapsed during the broadcast of WWE’s “Monday Night RAW” in 2012, according to TMZ. (RELATED: Mike Tyson Admits To Using Fentanyl During Boxing Career)

The professional wrestler last appeared on television in February while taping WWE “Smackdown” in Tennessee.
