WWE Fans Blast Mystery Teaser Reveal for WrestleMania 42

WWE fans are expressing their frustrations with the company's buildup to an advertisement after several mystery teaser videos dropped this weekend. The series of cryptic videos initially showcased someone's shoes, suggesting multiple individuals. Another video featured hands on the arm of a chair, with many fans seeming to believe it suggested Paul Heyman. With that, some fans felt this was leading to something big, such as a new version of The Vision. Speculation focused on who the new members of The Vision might be, with Brock Lesnar, Austin Theory, and Tony D'Angelo among those fans believed could join. Some fans felt the videos might point to a significant return to WWE for Chris Jericho. After all that hype, a final video arrived on Tuesday, Oct. 26, which featured a powerful foursome. However, it wasn't a new version of The Vision or any other faction. Instead, the video showcased WWE's major stars: Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns. The four competitors were seated for a game of poker with Heyman and WWE chief content officer (CCO) Paul "Triple H" Levesque watching from nearby. The camera slowly reveals Rhodes, Reigns, Punk, and Lesnar, one by one, at the table as Triple H's narration continues. "But the great ones, they use it to their advantage. They own it. They've got them right where they want them," he says, before ending with "The rest just haven't figured it out yet." In a message for the event, WWE indicates that "2-day combo tickets" for WrestleMania 42 are now on sale. The two-day event takes place on Apr. 18 and 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Understandably, many WWE fans weren't happy with what the mystery teasers led to. Many took to the X comments to express their frustration with the letdown. "all them cryptic teases with some damn feet for a wrestlemania package… y’all have lost it," one X commenter wrote. "I'm so mad at myself for falling for this WrestleMania 42 ad. I should have just listened to everyone who kept warning me, but this was a dope WrestleMania ad," an X commenter said. Another fan slammed WWE, saying, "I understand business is business, but with the product stale as of late, doing all these teasers just for this was a massive botch creatively." "So this is all about next years Wrestlemania? What a waste of hype," a fan wrote on X. "Okay, it was a little nice to see but we really wanted some debut or repackage," an X commenter expressed. WrestleMania, commonly referred to as WWE's Super Bowl each year, will return to the Vegas venue for a second-straight year in 2026. However, it will then head over to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for WrestleMania 43. That also drew plenty of backlash, as fans generally travel to Mania and its related events in parts of the United States or Canada each year. It's also clear how much WWE has teased fans over the years with elaborate puzzles and videos, including the cryptic Wyatt Sicks build, since this current series of videos leading to WrestleMania 42 really seemed like a significant letdown.
