Veteran wrestling writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Bill Goldberg lashing out against the WWE. The 58-year-old legend lambasted the company for booking Asuka to beat his streak. During a recent interview on the Real Talk with Mike Burke podcast, the WCW legend spoke about his undefeated streak. He noted that WWE had booked "some girl" to surpass his 173-0 winning streak. Bill felt the company did that on purpose in a bid to tarnish his legacy. However, he held no ill will against Asuka. During a recent episode of Writing with Russo, the veteran writer felt it was weird to compare the two streaks because of the different circumstances. He explained that Goldberg's winning streak happened at a time when the wrestling business was going through a boom period, and millions tuned in every week to watch the product. However, Russo questioned how many people would have seen Asuka's winning streak on NXT. He felt the WCW icon was putting more spotlight on the Empress of Tomorrow by repeatedly talking about her booking. "And bro, it's not only that. My God, come on, Bill. How many people during that time were watching Goldberg's streak compared to how many people were watching Asuka's streak in NXT?" He continued, "He puts more of a spotlight on that by talking about it. I didn't see Asuka's streak on NXT," Russo said. The Empress of Tomorrow has also responded to Goldberg's comments. She penned her thoughts on social media and laid the issue to rest. The star wrote that while she respected the legend, she was not bothered by the comments. Asuka claimed that her legacy in wrestling was more than titles, wins, and losses. She wanted to create magic in the ring and leave behind unforgettable moments.
