2026 will see the first-ever mega auction in the Women's Premier League post the inaugural season bidding, as after the end of the third season, all teams will have to overhaul their squads going into the new season, which is set to see interest multiply after the Indian women's team's victory in the 2025 Women's World Cup. From the Rs. 12 crore cap in the first-ever auction in 2023, this time around, each team has a sum of a maximum of Rs. 15 crore to pay their players. Teams will also have a Right to Match (RTM) available in the auction if they did not retain their full quota of five players. Meanwhile, each team could retain a maximum of three Indians and two overseas players. Among the players, the mega event's top run-getter, Laura Wolvaardt, will also be under the hammer, as will the second-highest run-getter, Alyssa Healy. Meg Lanning, arguably the greatest player in women's cricket history, has not been retained by the Capitals despite leading them to three finals.
