Defending champion Neeraj Chopra qualified World Athletics Championship men’s javelin final with his very first attempt of 84.85m, beating the automatic qualification mark of 84.50m. Neeraj wasn’t the only Indian to qualify, as Sachin Yadav finished 10th with a best throw of 83.67m, qualifying as part of the top 12. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who beat Neeraj to gold in the Paris Olympics 2024, also booked his spot in the final.
