June, who lives in the Black Country, had been on sick leave due to a combination of physical and mental health challenges, including anxiety, PTSD, arthritis, and carpal tunnel syndrome. On top of her own health needs, June is also a carer for her parents. After being referred to WorkWell, she worked closely with Work and Health Coach Claire, who supported her through meetings with her employer and helped her navigate complex workplace adjustments. Claire also connected June to the Mobilise carers network for additional support at home. As a result, June has successfully returned to work with amended duties and a formalised contract that reflects her current needs. She now reports improved sleep, reduced stress, and a general boost in wellbeing. Speaking on her time with WorkWell, June said: “Before WorkWell, I felt anxious, lost, and unsure how to face work again. But with Claire’s support, I found the confidence to speak up for what I needed. She was always there, guiding me and making sure I wasn’t alone. Thanks to WorkWell, I’ve returned to a job I love with the right support in place. I’d tell anyone in the Black Country who’s struggling with their health and work to definitely reach out. This service really can change your life.” Dale Stewart, WorkWell Learning and Change Manager said, “We are delighted to see the difference WorkWell is making in people’s lives. June’s story shows what’s possible when the right support is in place.
