A contract worker from the Chicago area is recovering after he fell more than 50 feet from a scoreboard at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium. According to NBC affiliate WPXI, Keith Keller was working on behalf of NBC Sports, installing a remote camera for Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers when he fell from the scoreboard atop the stadium. WPXI reported Pittsburgh EMT’s used a basket and pulley system to lower Keller to the ground, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Bill Brennan, who describes himself as a friend and colleague of Keller’s, set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for medical bills, and that account has already raised more than $130,000 as of Wednesday night. Brennan told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Keller is “doing remarkably well” after the incident, but faces a long road to recovery. According to Brennan, Keller suffered multiple fractures in both of his legs, and also lacerated both his liver and his spleen in the fall, among other traumatic injuries. No further information on the incident was immediately available.
