The 34-year-old was elected mayor of New York City, becoming the youngest person in over a century and the first Muslim to do so (plus, defeating Trump-backed Andrew Cuomo in the process). Mamdani has often drawn the ire of Donald Trump over the past year. The president has, on several occasions, labeled the democratic socialist a "communist" and said that "HE HAS NO CHANCE" of restoring New York City to its "former Glory." After his win was projected, Mamdani took the stage at his election night rally in Brooklyn to address the packed theater, New Yorkers, and the world. At a key moment during his address, Mamdani turned the attention directly to Trump. "So Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you," he said. He went on to say that his administration would end "the culture of corruption" that allowed Trump to rise to power in the city.
