Woman sues Basketball Hall of Fame, arguing management don’t hire women

SPRINGFIELD — A woman is suing the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame after getting passed over for a marketing job.
A lawsuit filed in Hampden Superior Court said CEO and President John Doleva “doesn’t hire women.”
Doleva did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
The Hall of Fame’s website shows two of nine officers for the nonprofit organization are women, including its general counsel.
But plaintiff Tracy Shirer, who recently filed a lawsuit in Hampden Superior Court, argues she was passed over or a job in favor of two less qualified men.
Shriver contends she was a lauded enshrinement volunteer with a rich background in sports marketing.
“Plaintiff Tracy Shirer has extensive experience in the field of entertainment marketing,” noting that she worked in the field since 1998.
She didn’t get the job.
Shirer’s attorney stands by the notion she was discriminated against.
