Woman smashes boyfriend’s video games and TV after finding him drunk at home: Richmond Heights Police Blotter

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio
Disturbance: Ruth Ellen Drive
Officers responded to a disturbance between a man and his girlfriend at an apartment around 10:15 a.m. Sept. 14 and learned that the woman had smashed the man’s TV and video game console after she came home from work and found him drunk.
There were conflicting stories as to who purchased the destroyed items, and neither could provide proof of purchase.
The woman decided she would leave for the day to avoid any further altercation.
Breaking and entering: Highland Road
Officers responded to a reported breaking and entering at a manufacturing business at 2 a.m. Sept. 9.
A suspect was not located but an employee working at the manufacturing side of the building said that he had heard glass break in the unoccupied office and lab area.
Officers confirmed that there was broken glass and a window screen out of place.
The male suspect was believed to have fled into the woods behind the business.
Public intoxication: Claymore Boulevard
Officers responded at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 10 to a report of a woman who had fallen while walking and they found her lying in the grass next to an open can of Big Sipz Purple Punch alcohol.
The woman, 34, who lived in the area, was found to be highly intoxicated and could not walk or stand. She was arrested for public intoxication and a family member was contacted and advised of the incident.
It was unclear where she had been walking to at the time of the incident.
Theft: Wilson Mills Road
A Willoughby Hills woman, 19, was arrested at Meijer Sept. 6 for obstructing official business and for the theft of $227 worth of groceries.
She initially claimed to be a juvenile by providing a false name and birthdate. Officers believed that she had done so in hopes of being released on scene to her cousin without being charged.
Domestic violence: Ruth Ellen Drive
A man reported from the Dorchester apartments Sept. 10 that he had been assaulted by the mother of his children.
The Richmond Heights woman, 31, was not present when officers arrived but was subsequently located and arrested for domestic violence after officers concluded that she was the primary aggressor.
Harassment: Richmond Road
A high school teacher reported Sept. 11 that she was receiving harassing text messages from somebody claiming to be a student and asking to start a relationship with her.
The teacher blocked the first number the messages came from and then received messages from a second number.
Later, a note was found on her desk in a classroom that referenced a similar request to the text messages.
The teacher believed that it was a student prank but police suggested that it could have serious consequences.
Disturbance: Merit Drive
A man was escorted off the property of the Grande Pointe healthcare facility Sept. 9 after he was said to have assaulted an aide.
The man said that he was only trying to help an aide, who was being hit with a trash can by a resident.
With no injuries reported, there was no desire to pursue charges against the man.
Traffic stop: Monticello Boulevard
Officers found suspected crack cocaine inside a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic violation Sept. 12.
The suspected drugs were for sent for testing with charges pending against the driver, a 60-year-old East Cleveland man.
Harassing communication: Royal Oak Boulevard
A woman said Sept. 11 that she was receiving harassing text messages from her ex-husband.
Officers reviewed the messages and determined that they were not threatening. They advised the woman how she could obtain a civil protection order and contacted the ex-husband and told him only to contact the woman with matters regarding their son.
