ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – OVI, child endangering: Wooster Road A resident of an apartment complex contacted the police department at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 12 to report seeing a car hit her neighbor’s parked car in the parking lot. When officers approached the suspect’s car, they found a woman slumped over, face down, with two small children in the backseat. Officers called for an ambulance to evaluate the woman. She told a paramedic that she had been drinking tequila all day, according to a police department press release. She was taken to Fairview Hospital for medical treatment, and her children were turned over to a family member., The 22-year-old Cleveland woman was charged with endangering children, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and failure to control. Suspicious incident: I-90 A caller at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 reported seeing a man dressed in all black clothing and carrying a white tote bag running westbound on I-90 near the Wooster Road overpass. Officers checked the area, but couldn’t find the man. However, a short time later, a man matching that description appeared in the police department lobby and reported running out of gas on the highway. He was assisted to a gas station and then back to his vehicle. He was sent on his way. Truck citation: Dale Avenue An officer stopped a box truck at 9 a.m. Oct. 17 for driving on Dave Avenue in violation of the city’s truck route ordinance. The truck driver, a 43-year-old Atwater, Ohio, resident, was found to be wanted by the Akron Police Department on a traffic warrant. However, Akron police declined to travel to Rocky River to pick up the man. Rocky River officers advised the man of the warrant and cited him for violating the truck route ordinance.
