Wolverhampton nursery celebrates 20 years of 'supporting families, employers and the community together'

Since opening it’s doors in 2005, Blakenhall Neighbourhood Nursery has achieved a “GOOD” Ofsted rating, established itself as a trusted partner for parents, and become known for its pioneering approach to early years learning and inclusive support.

The nursery have nurtured thousands of children throughout the last two decades, and welcomed Mayor of Wolverhampton Craig Collingswood to celebrate.

“For 20 years, Blakenhall Neighbourhood Nursery has stood as a beacon of opportunity, learning, and inclusion,” Mr Gurdial Singh, Chair of the nursery said. “Our new Partnership Pledge and wraparound care model will help us reimagine childcare for the next generation, supporting families, employers and the community together.”

Blakenhall Nursery also unveiled their new ‘Partnership Pledge’ to reaffirm its commitment to working hand-in-hand with parents, schools, employers, and community organisations, ensuring families have the support they need in an ever changing world.

The newly unveiled BNN Partnership Pledge sets out a bold, collaborative framework to:

• Empower Parents & Carers – creating stronger engagement pathways and giving families a voice in shaping childcare and early learning.

• Support Employers & Workforce Needs – extending wraparound childcare provision to help local and neighbouring employers meet the needs of working families.

• Strengthen Education Links – deepening collaboration with schools such as Graiseley Primary and local partners to smooth transitions and create continuity in learning.

• Nurture Community Partnerships – working with organisations including Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara to enhance cultural inclusivity and shared learning experiences.
