Wode Maya, Rocky Dawuni, Anita Erskine and two others offered diplomatic passports

In a move to bolster Ghana’s cultural and people-to-people diplomacy, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has awarded diplomatic passports to five prominent Ghanaians.

The recipients include travel vlogger Wode Maya, Grammy-nominated reggae artist Rocky Dawuni, broadcaster Anita Erskine, visual artist Ibrahim Mahama, and entrepreneur Dentaa Amoateng MBE.

Minister Ablakwa announced the initiative on Wednesday, September 17, at the launch of the Diaspora Summit 2025, an event organized by the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The five individuals were chosen for their global influence and established success in promoting Ghanaian and African culture internationally.

The diplomatic passports are intended to facilitate their efforts to “connect Ghana to the world” through cultural diplomacy, trade promotion, and international engagement.
