Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been a significant reason the WNBA is experiencing a surge in popularity. Former sports columnist Jason Whitlock alleged that the league's 'game plan' is to groom Clark while mirroring the 'gay' journey of coach Stephanie White.Whitlock, on Thursday on his podcast "Jason Whitlock," claimed that coach White was brought into the Fever to groom Clark to tread the same path and come out as gay. He added that White's background is similar to Clark's, and added that her journey to fame is the same process the WNBA is grooming the Fever star."Maybe, there's something we don't know, because I have certainly said the game plan for Caitlin Clark that's been hatched by the WNBA and why Stephanie White was brought in to groom Caitlin Clark," Whitlock said. Colson, on Tuesday, on Candace Parker's podcast, "Post Moves," listed players in the league who would play for the straight team and skipped the former Iowa star's name.Colson was answering questions sent by fans on the podcast. The fan asked that she draft a WNBA All-Star team for a game between straight players against gay players.Jason Whitlock suggests Caitlin Clark faces gender-specific mental health strugglesJason Whitlock, on his podcast, suggested that Caitlin Clark is struggling with mental pressure that is related to women in sports. Whitlock added that the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year is not built the same way as men are to handle being the face of the league."Caitlin Clark is struggling with the pressure that goes along with being the biggest star in American sports."Whitlock said. "Being a woman that has the normal hormonal issues that women have and dealing with this level of pressure, they're not built for this."Clark hasn't played since she ruled herself out of the season due to a groin injury. While many have wondered what's really wrong with her, she didn't miss any games during her time in college and her rookie season. Whitlock believed that it was more of her being mentally stressed than physically worn out.Last season, Clark played in 13 games for the Fever. She missed 31 games in the regular season and didn't play during the team's run to the playoffs semifinals, as she had ruled herself out for the remainder of the season.
