Mumbai will soon be getting its complete underground Metro-3 Aqua Line from Worli to Cuffe Parade. It will be the city’s first fully underground corridor, which has been built in multiple phases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the third phase of Mumbai Metro-3 on September 30. As the date of launch looms, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) shared an exclusive glimpse of the crossover facility at Cuffe Parade Metro Station, showing a ‘diamond-shaped crossing’, attracting the viewers. Writing, “Witness the unseen!”, the MMRCL took to X, and wrote, “An exclusive glimpse of the crossover facility at Cuffe Parade Metro Station – the epicenter of seamless metro movement.” Check The Image Here The picture shows the diamond-shaped track arrangement and the Rigid Overhead Catenary System (RCOS), which is a kind of overhead electrical system that uses a rigid conductor rail to supply power to trains. With the third phase of Mumbai Metro-3 operational, the travel from Colaba to Aarey Colony will be completed within one hour. On the contrary, currently, it takes 120 to 180 minutes to cover this area during traffic time. Once completed, the third phase will add 11 more stations, making it easier for the daily commuters to travel. The Metro-3 has 27 stations, and 26 of those are underground and one at grade that will link major business hubs, including BKC, Worli, Dadar, and SEEPS tech park.
