India is indeed not for beginners. A hilarious video gaining traction on social media stunned everyone after a resident dressed as an astronaut and walked gently on road potholes as if it were space footage of someone walking on the moon. It was a hilarious attempt at highlighting the poor road condition, with the stretch containing multiple potholes and causing obvious danger to travellers’ safety. The angle from which the video was recorded and the lighting in use made it seem like an archive footage of some astronaut in the past walking on the moon, which is noted to have certain rough terrains. As the person enacted the astronaut perfectly and slowly approached the patch, one was initially convinced that it was in fact a video of the moon until an autorickshaw went across in the backdrop, leaving those watching in absolute splits. Hilarious Means To Send A Message It couldn’t be initially verified when and where the video was recorded, but according to a fact check report by NDTV, it was originally shared in 2019 and the person dressed as an astronaut was Bengaluru-based street artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, who performed his act on one of the busy roads in the city. Nanjundaswamy took a sarcastic dig at the road authorities for not paying attention to the series of potholes that caused awkward and risky bumps to all the vehicles passing by. The hilarious means to achieve the objective was one of a kind, reflecting Nanjundaswamy’s humour but also his awareness of public safety threat. He urged the authorities to act in the most unique manner, which brought a smile to people’s faces. ‘Rickshaw Can’t Reach Moon’ The humorous and sarcastic streak of the Bengaluru artist dressed as an astronaut rubbed off on people, who came up with a series of funny remarks in the comment section of the video. “Astronaut training program, hence roads are like that and we blame the govt,” quipped an individual. “This is how NASA make the moon video on earth,” joked a user. Someone else said, “Haters will say rickshaw can’t reach the moon.” “Road space technology se bana hai (the road is made of space technology),” commented another person. One could tip their hat off to Nanjundaswamy for coming up with the idea and executing it perfectly, deploying a funny means to pass on an important message to the road transport authorities. Such potholes cause daily inconvenience and a safety threat for all travellers across different states in India.
