Key Points: YouTube TV made a decision affecting millions of sports fans Frank Kaminsky III’s reaction went viral Fans debated what to do next The world of sports broadcasting changed for millions of people on Friday as the live sports and live TV streaming service YouTube TV announced it failed to reach a deal with Disney, putting an end to ABC and ESPN sports broadcasts on the network. The news did not sit well with Wisconsin basketball legend and former Final Four participant Frank Kaminsky III, the Lisle, Illinois native and former NBA center who currently plays for the Guanzhou Loong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association. Kaminsky III vented his frustrations in a viral post viewed by over 1.2 million readers as of early Saturday morning on X. Kaminsky III Shares Displeasure With YouTube TV Kaminsky III was upset about the decision and is tired of having to utilize multiple different applications to watch his favorite sports programming. “I’m old enough to remember being able to turn on the TV and just watch sports without needing 4,000 different apps to do so,” he said. “Just like make it stop. I want to click the on button and just bam, sports right there. Is that too much to ask for? Isn’t technology supposed to make life simpler?” Fans Add Two Cents to Kaminsky III Post Fans reacted to the Kaminsky III rant in a wide variety of ways. “If only there was something where all channels could be accessed. Maybe they can call it cable??” one person said. “Get cable,” another said. “I pay under $200 for literally every channel and a gig of Internet,” they added. “Includes 4K sports and DVR.” “I’m old enough to remember when you got one college football game on TV each Saturday,” another added. “You want to go back to a time when there were four or five games televised every Saturday? I don’t,” another said. Kaminsky III was selected in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft and played eight NBA seasons. He averaged just under nine points per game and shot just under 35% from three-point land, making him one of the NBA”s better three-point shooters for a center.
