Wipro CIB sees uptick in premium product demand in tier 2, 3 cities

With changing consumer preferences, Wipro Commercial and Institutional Business (CIB), a part of Wipro Consumer Care Lighting is witnessing an uptick in its premium product offerings from tier 2 and tier 3 cities. It has introduced IoT-Enabled Air Quality Monitoring Solutions, iSense Air, that will deliver real-time insights and actionable data primarily for commercial establishments. It has also launched its range of next-generation products and solutions in lighting and seating for indoor, outdoor spaces. “There are consumers in tier 2 and tier 3 cities who are early adopters and are willing to invest in new technologies. We have also seen that even in tier 2 cities, there are companies, manufacturing companies that are exporters, and they have international visitors who come and visit their factories. They are interested and keen to have an international level of manufacturing, as it is a showcase for them. The phenomenon continues in small towns, wherein customers are investing in most high-tech solutions,” Anuj Dhir, Senior Vice President and Business Head, Commercial and Institutional Business, Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, told businessline. The IoT space was witnessing aggressive growth, Dhir said, adding the company has expanded its solutions. “Initially, we were only focused on offices; now we are doing manufacturing. We are doing IoT solutions, smart lighting for factories and are finding high adoption. Additionally, there is a market for converting the existing system into a smart lighting system.” Consumer preferences Consumer purchase patterns in the segment have changed, driven by increased health awareness. “We have witnessed consumers getting more conscious about workplaces, and we are seeing the demand for quality chairs increase even in homes. Earlier, this segment was less aware of quality chairs. In the hospitality space, with employees returning to work, we are seeing design changes in workplaces. Consumers are interested in understanding their products deeper with particularly if their chair is comfortable, durable, and so on,” added Dhir. Published on October 28, 2025
