Intense snowfall has begun as 13 states face storm warnings from the National Weather Service (NWS), predicting severe wind, ice, and up to 15 inches of snow. Chicago is already facing major disruption after snow began Sunday night, falling at 3 inches per hour—a rate that could lead to “dangerous to nearly impossible travel conditions,” according to the NWS. Some areas already reached a foot of snow, CNN reports. Similarly hazardous conditions are expected in neighboring states on Monday and Tuesday.
