The Block descended into chaos on Wednesday night as a secret wine cellar sparked one of the biggest blow-ups of the season.

What started as a glossy open-for-inspection day with 100 potential buyers quickly turned into a war of words, with alliances breaking down and friendships pushed to the brink.

Mat, usually the easy-going tradie of House Three, lost his cool after discovering that ‘Block sweethearts’ Ben and Emma had unveiled plans for their very own underground wine cellar – a move he branded a blatant rip-off of his and Robby’s prized feature.

‘Fing get your own ideas!’ Mat fumed after Robby broke the news, accusing the pair of ‘copying’ their design.

‘You can’t win a thing so you try and copy our ideas. F**k off… dumba**es.’

The tirade shocked viewers and left the visiting crowd stunned, with Robby convinced that Ben’s earlier body corporate meeting was a ruse to suss out cellar costs.

But in a stunning twist, Ben and Emma had the last laugh – their property was voted the favourite by the visiting buyers, scoring 24 per cent of the vote and snatching the $50,000 prize.

That left Mat and Robby in second place on 23 per cent, with Britt and Taz third (21 per cent), Sonny and Alicia fourth (19 per cent) and Han and Can last (13 per cent).

Despite their fury, Mat and Robby managed to clap for their rivals – though the simmering tension was written all over their faces.

Meanwhile, Britt’s attempts to patch things up with Alicia after last week’s ‘forgotten shopping trip’ fell flat.

Pulling her aside on the dancefloor at the post-inspection party, Britt apologised again – only to be met with icy resistance.

‘That’s not going to cut it,’ Alicia later said. ‘I need an explanation.’

The very next day, Alicia found her moment to strike.

When Britt and Taz’s tiler needed access to quick-dry materials to finish their guest ensuite, Sonny and Alicia’s tradies were ready to lend a hand. But Alicia shut it down instantly.

‘Nup,’ she snapped, before reminding everyone that Britt and Taz had hoarded $15,000 worth of free timber earlier in the season, forcing her and Sonny to spend $7,000 of their own budget.

The cold move left Britt and Taz scrambling – and proved Alicia has a long memory when it comes to payback.

And she wasn’t done yet.

When the other contestants begged Foreman Dan for a couple of extra hours to complete their ensuites, Alicia once again blocked the request.

‘Well ahead’ on her own build, Alicia had no interest in helping the competition catch up.

‘Game on b***hes,’ she smirked as she strutted off, leaving the foreman in stitches and her rivals fuming.

The Block continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
