William (Bill) Andrew

In loving memory ~ William (Bill) Andrew, 84, of Campbell River, BC B. Edmonton, 1941, D. Campbell River Hospital, October, 2025. Known for his integrity, dedication, community work and steadfast patience, Bill followed his beloved wife Irene to the other side two months after she passed. They were married for an extraordinary, unconditionally loving 59 years. Bill is dearly missed by his daughter Suzanne; son Christopher (partner Patricia); grandson Jordan; granddaughter Dalia; sister Lynn; nephews Mark, Michael and Scott; a large family of in-laws and the many friends, colleagues and clients he showed so much grace, consistency and kindness to over the years. Throughout his lifetime and career as a chartered professional accountant, Bill lived in service to others. He was the local Rotary President from 1982-83 during which the Quinsam Nature Trail was completed. He served on numerous boards, including the hospital board, board of variance and Bethany Lutheran Church board, and he provided eagle-eyed accounting to non-profits and indigenous bands. He chose personal and small business accounting in Campbell River over corporate accounting in Edmonton where he started his career, moving his young family here in 1974 to work for J.M Standeven Chartered Accountants. He soon launched his own firm, William W.D. Andrew, Chartered Accountant, where he worked for decades before accepting a role at MNP in semi-retirement. Bill loved history, geography, mystery books and travel. When he proposed to Irene it was a two- part question: “will you marry me, and will you come to New Zealand with me?” He was happiest driving, and will be remembered for his stories of driving around Europe in his Volvo, across North America in his Jeep Wagoneer, and to the skate park with his grandson in his Chevy Avalanche. Enjoy the open road, Dad/Grandpa! Funeral at Bethany Lutheran Church in spring, date TBA. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association.
