Willemse granted N$200,000 bail

UPDATE: Cedric Willemse (52) has been granted bail by Magistrate Olga Maharukua, who stated that at this stage, the court has no choice but to believe Willemse and that proof may exist that these were genuine transactions involving his farming business, which could be provided if he were not before court. This follows allegations by the State that Willemse accepted bribes amounting to over N$3 million from various companies, including that of Victor Malima, which owns Qualify Meat Supplies. She thus granted bail in the amount of N$200,000, subject to Willemse reporting twice daily to the Okahandja Police Station, surrendering all passports and travel documents, not applying for any new travel documents until the matter is finalised and refraining from tampering with any state witnesses or evidence.
