Abhishek Banerjee, whose special appearance in Thamma brought the house down, has spoken about his character Jana's popularity. He said the audience loves Jana for his innocence and proactiveness in extreme situations. I think Jana as a character is so loved because he's the most innocent and gullible one. The audience connects with that innocence, he told Bollywood Hungama. When asked if Jana deserves a universe of his own, Banerjee agreed. He said, I totally second that! I've been telling Amar bhai (writer-producer Amar Kaushik) and Niren bhai (writer Niren Bhatt). But then it can't just be a creative call when it comes to putting money into a film. So let's wait and watch. Maybe someday, fingers crossed, he added. Banerjee expressed his excitement about being a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) with Thamma. He said, The response is always positive! I'm just happy to be part of the MHCU. He also teased his return to MHCU after Thamma, saying, Very soon, hopefully. In Bhediya 2, of course, and maybe in other worlds too. It depends on when Jana is required in the universe! Banerjee, who comes from a lower-middle-class background, spoke about his financial success. He said, What I've achieved financially already feels like a dream come true for a working-class Indian family. That said, my bank balance is definitely amplifying with each project, and I'm looking forward to enjoying my money the way the top 1% of India's affluent class does! Meanwhile, Thamma is a rousing success at the box office, earning ₹90cr in just 4 days after release, as per Sacnilk.
