The buzz around the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 has reached new heights. On Friday, September 19, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that renowned Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice to the official event song for the biggest tournament in women’s cricket.
Sharing the track on Instagram, the ICC unveiled the song featuring Ghoshal’s soulful rendition of lyrics penned by Raqueeb Alam and Nazeef Mohammed. The music has been composed, produced, and arranged by Nakul Abhyankar.
Titled Bring It Home, the anthem captures the excitement ahead of the prestigious 50-over tournament, which begins on September 30. The 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup will be a notable event, with India hosting it for the fourth time after 1978, 1997, and 2013. This time, India will co-host the tournament with Sri Lanka, adding a new twist to the competition.
Harmanpreet Kaur will lead a young and energetic Indian team against some of the strongest teams in cricket. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, where India will compete with seven other nations — Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Each team will play each other once, and the top four teams will move on to the knockouts.
India’s campaign starts on September 30 with a match against Sri Lanka in Guwahati. Their next big challenge is on October 5 in Colombo against arch-rivals Pakistan, one of the most awaited games of the tournament. The action then moves to Visakhapatnam, where India will play South Africa on October 9 and world champions Australia on October 12.
The team will travel to Indore to face England on October 19. The final phase of their league matches will be in Navi Mumbai, with crucial games against New Zealand on October 23 and Bangladesh on October 26.
