Both Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU will not release new episodes tonight, November 6, 2025, and there's a good reason why. NBC's full 2025-2026 schedule is in full swing this week with a series of late premieres such as Happy's Place and St. Denis Medical. That said, the majority of its long-running shows have been on the air for quite a while now. That includes Dick Wolf's longest-running franchise on TV — the Law & Order universe. Taking over NBC's full Thursday primetime block, Law & Order season 25 and Law & Order: SVU season 27 are releasing brand new episodes every week, as Baxter and Benson's respective teams work on cases that bring justice in New York. Meanwhile, Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 is re-running on broadcast after initially releasing on Peacock. Although those who are eager to know what's next for Elliot Stabler's arc in Law & Order: Organized Crime can turn to NBC's streaming platform to find out as soon as possible. Unfortunately for those who are interested in Benson and Baxter, they will have to wait a while. Why There Are No New Law & Order & Law & Order: SVU Tonight (November 6, 2025) Both Law & Order season 25 and Law & Order: SVU season 27 will not be airing new episodes tonight to give way to a special broadcast by NBC. As part of the marketing push for the upcoming release of Wicked: For Good in theaters, the network is airing Wicked: One Wonderful Night on November 6 at 8 p.m. ET with. The two-hour musical special that celebrates all things Wicked will be co-hosted by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Wicked: One Wonderful Night will only run for two hours, which means that the final third of the Law & Order primetime block will be devoted to something else. Per NBC's official schedule, the network will be using Law & Order: Organized Crime's hour to broadcast the first two episodes of St. Denis Medical season 2, "Aloha, Everyone" and "Mama Bear Activated." When Will Law & Order Season 25, Episode 7 & Law & Order: SVU Season 27, Episode 7 Release? The good thing is that Law & Order season 25, episode 7 and Law & Order: SVU season 27, episode 7 will release after just a week of hiatus. This means that "Guardian" and "False Gods" will air on November 13 respectively, starting at 8 PM ET. Both outings look very exciting, starting with Law & Order season 25, episode 7, which will see David Ajala join the cast as the team's new detective. Its weekly case will revolve around the murder of a high school sports star. Meanwhile, Benson and his team will be dealing with a tricky case involving "a famous author twists the details of a serious crime" in Law & Order: SVU season 27, episode 7. The outing will also mark Ice-T's return to work, although worryingly, Fin will be dealing with some challenges on his first day back.
