Sometimes the stars are just like us… in that they just keep having the same fights with their ex even after breaking up! That’s what Sydney Sweeney is going through, apparently. One of those breakups that just won’t end… For those who didn’t hear (or see the pics), the Anyone But You star reportedly left her World Series viewing party on Sunday night and took an Uber a few blocks to where her ex Jonathan Davino was parked. She ducked into the passenger seat of his waiting vehicle, where they hashed some things out. Unfortunately for her, the secret rendezvous didn’t stay secret for any time at all — paparazzi saw her and followed, getting snaps of what looked like a really heated argument! Not only that, a witness who saw them pull up to her place said they heard Sydney screaming at Jonathan: “I don’t believe you. Please leave, leave me alone.” Yeesh! Sounds like a pretty unproductive reunion! So… what the heck was that all about? A source explained to DailyMail.com on Tuesday that this was NOT one of those meetups where you feel one another out and talk about reconciling. Not at all. She’s still with Scooter Braun, and that’s actually going well — they were just seen on Monday night holding hands and looking quite couple-y indeed. No, the insider insists this was a “very hard breakup” for both Sydney and Jonathan, and they’re not trying to go down that road again. But it was so hard that even having the talks they do have is still painful: “He’s hurt and she’s hurt that their relationship is over.” The source also said that Sydney “hates that the paparazzi caught them together” in a state like that. So then why risk it? Why see one another at all? See, the thing is, they may be over, but their business relationship is not. They created an independent film production company together, somewhat ironically called Fifty-Fifty Films. Together they produced her horror hit Immaculate, and they’ve still got a lot of irons in the fire — including the boxing biopic Christy, which opens limited THIS WEEK! So unfortunately they don’t have the luxury of a clean break. They do still have to see each other occasionally. Unfortunately not everyone can compartmentalize their professional ambitions from their personal feelings. The insider said Sydney is “frustrated with” Davino at the moment “because he knows how to push her buttons.” Oof. Who hasn’t been there with an ex, right? The question is, will they be able to figure this out for as long as they have to? For the sake of the movies? Or will it be so toxic that it taints some potential projects??
