Coronation Street fans will be disappointed to learn that the soap won't be airing tonight due to a scheduling reshuffle on ITV1. Normally, viewers can get their fix of Weatherfield drama on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX. However, tonight's second episode has been bumped off the schedule to make way for the Carabao Cup. The football match between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur is set to take centre stage on ITV1, kicking off at 8pm. Mark Pougatch will be joined by Les Ferdinand and Andrew Cole to present coverage of the Premier League rivals' clash at St James' Park. But don't worry, Corrie fans won't have to wait long for their next dose of the Manchester-based soap. Coronation Street will be back on our screens tomorrow night (Thursday, October 30) at 8pm, followed by its usual Friday episode at the same time. Meanwhile fans have been left fuming by the shake-up. Online, one person said: "The way they literally moved #Corrie to a Thursday on the same week that Eva Price has returned is evil. I want my Corrie fix tonight - it also means we have to wait until tomorrow for Carla's return." Another added: "Because of the dam football again. Why does it have to spoil our routine." A third chimed in: "Sat down to watch it with my lunch and was very disappointed it wasn't on! I hate football!" Someone else fumed: "Why is football on our Corrie station. There are sports channels for that. It’s not fair to some of us who like our soap operas !!!" It's been an eventful week in Weatherfield, with Catherine Tyldesley making her much-anticipated return to the cast. Earlier this year, it was announced that the actress would be reprising her role as Eva Price, seven years after leaving the soap, reports the Liverpool Echo . Catherine's last scenes aired in August 2018, but now the 41 year old is back filming in Weatherfield. She was spotted on set on Monday alongside actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn, who play Eva's partner Ben Driscoll and his meddling mother Maggie. The couple are parents to three children - Eva's daughter Susie and Ben's two sons. During Monday's instalment, Eva's boyfriend Ben surprised her outside the Rovers by unveiling that he'd purchased the pub for her. From across the road, Maria looked on in dismay, realising Eva Price had returned permanently. Eva expressed her gratitude to Ben for the incredible surprise, whilst Leanne embraced her sister, delighted by her homecoming. Eva encouraged Leanne to fetch Toyah so the three of them could share a drink and resolve any tensions. Coronation Street usually airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
