ABUJA – Vice President Kashim Shet-tima has hinged the declin-ing inflationary rate on the leadership style of President Bola Tinubu.
He said the economy is seeing some level of stability but will get to its full climax by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The vice president stated this, Wednesday, when he received a delegation from UNICEF Nigeria led by the country’s representative, Ms. Wafaa Saeed Abdelatef, on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to the VP, “We are on the cusp of regen-erating our economy and rebuilding this nation. The gains of our reforms are manifesting by the day, the inflationary trend is on the decline and by the end of the year, the economy will fur-ther stabilise for all to see.”
This interaction came as the United Nations Chil-dren’s Fund (UNICEF) pledges continued support and partnership in actual-ising some programmes of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The VP described the move as a step in the right direction, noting that the president has redefined the concept of modern leader-ship in Nigeria.
Commenting on the ad-ministration’s vigour in pursuing legacy projects in health, nutrition, human capital development and related fields, Shettima said the government is commit-ted to working with UNICEF and other development part-ners to advance some of the “laudable initiatives” of the Federal Government such as Nutrition 774 Initiative, Economic and Financial In-clusion, and the Nutrition Intervention Fund, among others.
He said the country is blessed with a dedicated and committed leader in Pres-ident Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He noted that the presi-dent is determined to invest in the youths and in the overall transformation of the education sector, noting that in UNICEF, Nigeria has a worthy partner in progress to actualise its goals.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of courage and conviction and he is do-ing everything possible to redefine the concept of mod-ern leadership in Nigeria.”
While acknowledging the relationship between Nigeria and UNICEF over the years, the vice president said, “We have worked with your colleagues on differ-ent programmes across the country in the past and I believe that your coming will bring on board new ex-perience, exposure and the capacity for value addition to what we are doing.”
Earlier, the UNICEF Country Representative, Ms. Abdelatef, acknowledged Vice President Shettima’s dedicated leadership, strong voice and disposition in sup-porting humanitarian caus-es in Nigeria and beyond, describing him as a global citizen.
She assured the vice pres-ident of UNICEF’s unrelent-ing commitment and align-ment to the priorities of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, partic-ularly its programmes on nutrition, human capital de-velopment, and education of the girl child, among others.
The UNICEF country representative commended some of the administra-tion’s interventions such as the Nutrition 774 Initiative, the Nutrition Intervention Fund, and the Nutrition Bill, noting that the government’s vision is clear and the mis-sion is realisable.
