A Thousand Chromebooks For Compre The Ministry of Education is planning to distribute 5,000 Chromebooks to secondary schools across the country, and today they started with 1,044 at Belmopan Comprehensive High School. It's part of their Skilled for the Future Program and the program coordinator at the ministry told us more today. The value of all 5,000 Chromebooks is approximately four million dollars. SIF Opens San Ignacio Preschool In other news, Under the Basic needs trust fund cycle 10 of the Caribbean development bank, The Social Investment Fund has set out to bring to life seven sub projects in partnership with the CBD, one of those projects was the construction of a new preschool in San Ignacio, Santa Elena. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held today to mark the completion of this project and the opening of the preschool and here's how it went. Turning Firearms Into A Foundation Back in September, we reported that Bella Vista village was getting a police substation. Construction has begun, but they've added a twist and it evokes the biblical expression, "turning swords into plowshares." Except in this case, they're turning guns into the building's foundation.
