On November 8, 2025 Days of Our Lives marked its 60th anniversary with a star-studded red-carpet celebration. The event, covered by E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi through the network’s CreatorCam, featured interviews with several cast members, including Conner Floyd who plays Chad DiMera. Beginning in early 2026, Floyd will officially take over the role of Chad DiMera, following Daytime Emmy-winner Billy Flynn departure. Flynn who portrayed the character since 2014, recently joined The Young and the Restless, where Floyd previously appeared as Chance Chancellor. As Parade reported earlier this year. During his red-carpet interview with Marfuggi, Floyd teased what can expect from his take on Chad. “A lot of drama, obviously,” he said excitedly. Floyd contrasted his version of Chad with his previous The Young and the Restless role as Chance Chancellor, explaining what draws him to the part, “What I love about Chad is he kind of walks that line of DiMera and Horton. You know, he’s going to walk it from time to time, He doesn’t want to be DiMera. He wants to be a Horton, but the DiMera just kind of claws at him.” He teased, “So, expect that little tight rope.” In a separate interview with TVInsider earlier this year, Floyd discussed joining the long-running Peacock series and reflected on becoming a part of the iconic DiMera family. “The DiMera family is really cool, and the more I dig into it, this character has a lot to unpack,” he said. “I like working, so I was really, really excited to dive deep into Chad and explore this world that he’s in.” 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Floyd’s Credits Floyd made his professional debut in 2019 film Witness, before landing the role of beloved legacy character Phillip ‘Chance’ Chancellor IV on The Young and the Restless in 2021. He portrayed Chance until early 2025, when the character was written off the show. Fans can catch Floyd’s debut episodes beginning in April 2026.
