ACIT running back/linebacker David Nixon-Matos is The Press High School Football Player of the Week.
The Press selected four high school football MVPs based on their performances the previous week.
Fans voted at pressofac.com for one of the four to be named Player of the Week. Nixon-Matos won with 43.8% of the vote.
The senior made 13 tackles, five for losses, as the Red Red Hawks shut out Deptford 21-0. ACIT (2-0) will play at Triton (1-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
“Hard work, dedication, consistency,” ACIT coach Chris Mancuso said when asked what makes Nixon-Matos successful. “David is everything we want out of an Atlantic Tech football player.”
The other three MVPs were: Roman Coney of St. Augustine Prep, Ty Costabile of Holy Spirit and Chris Raub of Southern Regional.
