Microsoft (MSFT) is restructuring its executive leadership structure as Chief Commercial Officer Judson Althoff occupies an expanded position as CEO of commercial business, enabling company chief Satya Nadella to commit more focus to the technical aspects of operations in the tech giant’s push to dominate the AI industry.Formation of a New Unified OrganizationAlthoff will head what Microsoft CEO Nadella explained as a new organization, which will blend sales, marketing and operations. Nadella stated that the reorganization would allow him and other engineering leaders to be “laser focused on our highest ambition technical work – across our datacenter buildout, systems architecture, AI science, and product innovation,” as per a blog posted on Wednesday.Althoff’s Experience and Past LeadershipThis is not Althoff’s initial time directing a unified commercial strategy.
