This action came after reports indicated that Siebert’s office found insufficient evidence to charge New York Attorney General Letitia James with mortgage fraud related to her Virginia home. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump sharply criticized Siebert’s handling of the investigation and cited endorsements from Virginia Democratic Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine as reasons for wanting Siebert removed. “I want him out,” Trump said at the White House.
