The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is reminding of who is eligible for a free NHS Covid vaccination this autumn and winter, with some being offered the jab from just six months of age. Those who can get the vaccine can make appointments online or through the NHS app, UKHSA adds. The alert comes as Covid cases have actually dropped somewhat as per the latest data. However, the number of weekly deaths, and the number of patients admitted to healthcare settings with covid, have both risen. As per the most recent figures, recorded Covid cases dropped by 21.1% to 2,087 in the week to October 22. Weekly deaths rose by 9.2% to 154 in the seven days to October 17, and the number of patients with Covid admitted to healthcare facilities rose by 9.7% to 2,077 in the week leading to September 30. Covid cases are expected to rise over the coming weeks and months as cooler weather drives people to gather indoors more frequently. UKHSA posted on X, previously Twitter , earlier today (Monday): "Have you booked your free NHS COVID-19 vaccination? "Check if you’re eligible and book online or via the NHS App now."
