White House releases list of 37 donors for $300 million Trump ballroom

The White House began demolition of the East Wing this week as part of a new ballroom construction project that will be funded by 37 donors, Fortune has reported. The estimated cost for the 90,000-square-foot facility has increased to $300 million, up $100 million from the July estimate of $200 million, the report said. According to documents reviewed by Fortune, the donor list includes some of America’s largest tech companies, corporations with government contracts and members of the Trump administration. The private contributions will be channeled through the nonprofit Trust for the National Mall as tax-deductible donations. White House officials did not disclose the individual donation amounts for all contributors listed. While Trump previously stated he would personally contribute to the project, his name does not appear on the donor list, the report said.
