Whisker launches new Litter-Robots, PetTag, and membership

Today, Whisker, one of the brands at the top of the autonomous litter box hill, is launching three new models of its popular Litter-Robot series, which are bringing the most advanced systems yet, as well as some bonus intelligent tech in the form of a pet tracker and a membership service. This new generation of releases goes beyond cleaning, as all these new products are aimed at providing more personalized connection for pets and their human companions. Head below to learn all about these new releases, and be sure to keep your eye out for our upcoming review of one such unit. Today is starting off with quite the big news for pet owners, as you no doubt have heard of Whisker and its Litter-Robots over the last few years as the company has climbed higher and higher into public recognition. We’re getting the most advanced lineup of robots to date, with the Litter-Robot EVO being the most compact and affordable yet, while we’re getting the most advanced systems in the Litter-Robot 5 and Litter-Robot 5 Pro. Of course, there’s also the new PetTag for tracking and the Whisker+ membership that provides behavioral and health insights. “At Whisker, we’re constantly asking how to make life with our pets endlessly better. With Litter-Robot 5 Pro and our expanded product line, we’re not just iterating on previous products – we’re redefining what’s possible in automated pet care, and this is just the beginning. This launch is just one piece of a much larger, integrated ecosystem we’re building to support the full spectrum of cat care across waste, food, and water; using data and design to deliver better outcomes for pets and their people. Our team is now made up of over 100 engineers and product professionals, and the journey ahead is exciting for pet parents everywhere!” The Whisker+ membership and PetTag expand functionality The new Whisker+ subscription service is compatible with all the new Litter-Robot devices, unlocking more advanced insights into your pet’s behavior and litter box habits. With these features activated, pet parents can get detailed breakdowns of their cat’s behaviors over longer periods of time, allowing them to identify concerning patterns, monitor any changes being pointed out, and possibly spot issues they may be having before it becomes serious. Whisker has made a point to acknowledge that the standard services previous generations of Litter-Robot’s provide will still remain as they are – completely free through the companion app. This new subscription service simply unlocks the new and more robust analysis capabilities for those that want/need it at either $7.99/month or $79.90/year. On the flip side of things is the brand’s new PetTag device that goes for $29 shipped, and works as a separate device to keep track of your fur babies, as well as pairs with the new Litter-Robot 5 Pro to provide added insights. It’s a water-resistant, RFID-powered tag that has been designed to fit most collars, and supports the LostPet feature that helps to reunite lost animals with their humans through opted-in households with recognition-based devices. Whisker’s Litter-Robot EVO: the most compact of the lineup The Whisker Litter-Robot EVO is the brand’s most compact of its autonomous self-cleaning robot litter boxes while also offering the most affordable prices. Starting at $599 shipped, it’s been designed for single or dual cat households, it measures in at 27.6 inches high, 20.6 inches wide, and 24.3 inches deep. It’s great for smaller homes with less space, like apartments, as well as new cat parents that might not want to go all-out for the more advanced models. You’ll enjoy the same smart, sensor-activated self-cleaning functionality as past models here, though it does sport a new full color display, and the array of membership-activated services, including PawPrint personalized weight tracking, daily visit summaries, bathroom habit reports, and multi-device insights into what it could all mean for them and you. Whisker’s Litter-Robot 5 brings further advancements Among the three new litter boxes being launched, it’ll likely be the Litter-Robot 5 that gets the most attention at $799 shipped, unless cat owners want to take the next step to AI-featured support (more on that below). Here, you’re getting what we would deem the standard variant of the latest model, which brings along the same self-cleaning functionality, sensor safety features, and in-app smart controls that made past generations more and more successful with every iteration, as well as some new key differences. First off, there’s the new WasteID feature, which can distinguish between just what kind of calling your cat has gotten from nature, adjusting its odor control based on the type of waste that’s been detected. There’s also the new full color display that has been given to all three of these new models, as well as some customization possibilities through the snap-on bezels and adjustable color lights. Lastly, and in my opinion, most importantly, the waste drawer has been redesigned here with a more thoughtful use of its underside space. Focusing on efficiency, this new drawer space has been increased and even comes supported by a new distribution tech in order to give you even more time before you’ll need to worry about emptying it out. Whisker’s Litter-Robot 5 Pro adds AI to the mix Coming in $100 more than the above model, you’ll get the most advanced system going with Whisker’s Litter-Robot 5 Pro at $899 shipped. This model is the most premium of these three new releases, bringing all the same functionality as the above variant, with the added bonus of AI-supported cameras and recognition software. This model has been equipped with dual AI-powered cameras that not only provide real-time and recorded video in 1080p resolution, but also come with night vision tech so those videos are crystal clear – day or night. Its performance takes another step forward thanks to the AI cat recognition, allowing its AI system to identify which cats are using it, with even more in-depth insight that is tailored to each of them personally. This is especially handy in multi-cat households, as this, and the standard 5 model, support up to five fur babies, with the insights individually tracking and keeping records for each of them.
