The Detroit Tigers open up a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
The Tigers return home after what was an overall mediocre road trip on the East Coast. While the team managed to become the first club in Major League Baseball history to score 10 or more runs in back-to-back games against the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium, Detroit found a way to drop two of three to the Miami Marlins this past weekend, leading to just a 3-3 record on the road trip last week.

Now, the Tigers return home, looking to bounce back after a disappointing homestand the week before, in which Detroit dropped four of its six games at home, dropping series to the likes of the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox.
The Tigers are currently 6.5 games ahead of the Cleveland Guardians for first in the American League Central.
The Tigers are 4-3 against the Guardians, sweeping Cleveland on the road in July.
