Liberty vs. Mercury: Game 3 matchup
After dropping Game 1 of the best-of-three first-round series in Phoenix, the Mercury got redemption Wednesday night with an 86-60 win in Brooklyn. The 1-2 punch of Alyssa Thomas (15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists) and Satou Sabally (15-7-4) again fueled a worthy performance in a must-win matchup. Five Phoenix players scored in double figures to sprint past a Liberty side that cooled after a 25-point first quarter with 35 over the final three.
Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty’s starting lineup with just nine points on 3-of-13 shooting overall and 1-of-8 from 3-point range. As a team, the Liberty are now tasked with making more shots fall in a hostile environment on the heels of just 30.2% shooting in the Game 2 loss.
The Liberty and Mercury are set for a 9 p.m. ET start on ESPN2. Live streams are available from FuboTV (free trial), DirecTV (free trial), and Sling (low intro rate).
