StreamEast is gone, and it isn’t coming back, and that means baseball fans will be looking for a free MLB StreamEast alternative to watch the 2025 MLB Playoffs, which start Tuesday, September 30.
Fans who want to watch MLB postseason games for free this weekend can sign up for a free trial of DirecTV. The streaming service offers a 5-day free trials, with access to baseball games on ESPN and ABC for the Wild Card round. Additional channels needed for Divisional, Championship and World Series rounds, including FOX, FS1 and TBS, are all covered by DirecTV.
Other streaming services with free trials can also be used, but there are some limitations. Here’s a breakdown:
Where can I stream the 2025 MLB Playoffs without StreamEast?
Streameast was free for streaming sports, but it was inconsistent and illegal. Replacement sites, such as CrackStream or MethStream, are similarly unreliable and illegal to use.
DirecTV is a reliable streaming platform where you can watch baseball — or any live sports — for free, and it’s the best place to stream the 2025 MLB Playoffs. It includes FOX, FOX Sports, ABC, ESPN, TBS and truTV at its basic Entertainment package level. That includes a five-day free trial, and costs $49.99 for the first month, then $84.99/per month. DirecTV has 90+ channels and streams on unlimited devices with unlimited cloud DVR.
MLB postseason action kicks off Tuesday night with the Wild Card round. All eight wild card teams are in action, including both the World Series defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the World Series runners-up, the New York Yankees. And the competition is fierce.
American League run leader Aaron Judge will lead the Yankees against their bitter rivals, the Boston Red Sox, in a Wild Card series at Yankee Stadium. The winner will go on to face George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Toronto Blue Jays in an ALDS starting on the weekend.
On the other side of the bracket, Shohei Ohtani — once again leading in runs for the entire MLB — leads the Dodgers as they host the Reds in LA. The winner there is set to clash with Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner and a Phillies side on a quest for postseason redemption in the NLDS.
