Where to find pets in The Outer Worlds 2

To obtain every pet in The Outer Worlds 2, you must either turn every planet inside out or make life easier and find some help. Speaking from experience, it’s entirely possible to finish the game without ever running into a pet, so don’t feel bad if you’ve missed a bunch of them! If you’d like to cuddle with a cystypig or rescue a sickly crabble, here’s how to collect every pet in The Outer Worlds 2. How to unlock pets in The Outer Worlds 2 We’ve located a total of 12 pets in The Outer Worlds 2, so far. Some are found in the wild, others are held in captivity, and many are bought from shops. They won’t accompany you on missions, but you can select one pet at a time to roam your spaceship, The Incognito. To activate a pet, you must use the Pet Feeder in the room with the workbench (the odd barrel-shaped structure). If you leave the cockpit and walk downstairs, it’s on your left. Beware, however, that you must obtain your first pet to unlock the Pet Feeder — otherwise, there’s nothing there. If you’d like to find more pets, here's an overview of the pets that we've found so far, detailing their names, locations, and unlock requirements. Premium Edition Sprat As the name suggests, you’ll automatically receive this pet if you purchased The Outer Worlds 2 premium edition. However, you can’t activate the Premium Edition Sprat without the Pet Feeder, and you still need to find your first pet in the wild to do so. In other words, you must obtain at least one of the pets listed below to make the Premium Edition Sprat appear on the ship. Lucy the Crabble Go to Paradise Island on Eden, and visit the Crabble Farm in the south. In front of the gate, you’ll find Crabble Rancher Casey lamenting the fate of the sick crabble beside her. If you cure the crabble, you’ll obtain her as a pet. There are several ways to cure Lucy the Crabble: Pass a skill check, which requires Medical level 5. Feed Lucy more Purpleberry Krunch (vomiting will cure her). This requires one box of Purpleberry Krunch and the “Dumb” trait. Use a trauma kit on Lucy. Hover Drone On Eden’s Paradise Island, go to the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center south of Westport. At the shop named Hazel’s Automated Wares and Repairs, buy the Hover Drone from the Quartermaster Automech at the counter for 1,000 bit cartridges. It’s best to obtain an entry permit for the Automech Repair Center by clearing the Ministry of Accuracy first, as going in guns-blazing will disable the shop. Zyranium Mantiwasp On Golden Ridge (Dorado), visit Fort Endurance, the large settlement in the north. After entering the fort, enter the Auntie’s Choice’s shop on the right and purchase the Zyranium Mantiwasp from Bonnie the Battlefront Barker for 2,000 bit cartridges. Desert Verachnid On Golden Ridge (Dorado), go to the Guardian Estates in the southwest, then walk along the riverbed to the south. On the right side of the path, just before entering the area with the purple trees, you’ll find an injured Desert Verachnid. It’s very easy to miss! Cure it, and it’ll join your roster of The Outer Worlds 2 pets. You have three options: Use a trauma kit. Pass a skill check: Medical level 8. Use the “Nature’s Friend” perk (requires Medical level 4 to unlock). Raptidon Juvenile and Gold Canid You can find both pets in the same place: on the ACS Undisputed Claim (the large Auntie’s Choice ship). After arrival, go downstairs and take the train to The Value-Added Esplanade. On your right-hand side, find the General Goods Peddler. You can buy the Raptidon Juvenile for 4,000 bit cartridges and the Gold Canid for 5,000 bit cartridges. Juvenile Hatchling Go to Praetor and walk toward the large building in the west. Before entering, turn left and walk south along the cliffs. You will see a small pond with a landing pod; open the pod to find a Starving Raptidon Juvenile. To claim this Raptidon as a pet, you must feed it some Meaty Roll-ups. It’s sold by various food vendors but it’s also commonly found as loot. Electric Mantiwasp On Praetor, go to Auntie’s Border Camp and speak with Quartermaster Owsley at the Military Supply Surplus. She sells the Electric Mantiwasp for 3,000 bit cartridges. Crabble Hatchling Go to Laplace’s Garden on The Cloister (just south of the landing pad). On your right, enter a shop called Scientician’s Surplus and speak with Order Purveyor Elwood. He sells the Crabble Hatchling pet for 3,000 bit cartridges. Icy Mantiwasp Travel to The Cloister, then visit Winter’s Grasp in the southeast. Find Auntie’s Choice’s Quartermaster Applebroog next to the massive statue and she’ll sell you the Icy Mantiwasp for 3,000 bit cartridges. Ursopod Cub On The Cloister’s east coast, you’ll find the Excogitation Chapel. Pass this area on the north side, then follow the coastline until you see a large, roundish cave opening with the Frightened Ursopod Cub inside. Complete one of the following actions to obtain the Ursopod Cub as your next pet: Bring Inez as your companion. She can soothe the cub. Pass a skill check, which requires Speech level 7. Feed the cub three pieces of Boneless Meatless Sprat. It’s found as loot and sold by food vendors. Cystypig This pet is found on The Cloister, but you must follow Inez’ companion quest, “A Most Extraordinary Specimen,” to reach it. In pursuit of a Grafting Doctor, you’ll enter a large ice cave called the Frozen Maw. Inside this cave, Inez will open the door to the Algid Menagerie. Make your way through until you hear someone shouting for help. A bit further ahead, on your right, you’ll find a cage with a Cystypig inside. Unlock this cage (requires Lockpick level 2 and a mag-pick item) to obtain the Cystypig as a pet.
